I Can’t Believe I’m Closing The Largest Hypnosis Group Ever

Presentation Lee McKing and being overwhelmed

It was back in 2016 when I decided to start a meetup group on hypnosis, since at that time, it didn’t look like anything good was around

I had the idea to share with the community, about the mind, a touch of psychology, and hypnosis in general

Raising public awareness and breaking away misconceptions about hypnosis

There was a meetup fee to organize and run such groups, but I attribute that as a small price for overall greater learning as a whole

Little did I know how my small idea to create Singapore Hypnosis Meetup, will grow the group to such an extent!

Becoming the largest hypnosis group, with 769 members in 2024!

However, it saddens me to say that I will probably close the group down because of the (outrageous) increase in meetup fees for organizing and running the group

Over the years the fee has increased until now USD $32.63 which I can still manage but to increase this to USD $99.99 (plus tax) is quite… steep…

Especially when I have been doing free meetups (except 1) to share and raise awareness about how the mind works

Ending stats of Singapore Hypnosis Meetup Group

Let’s take a walk down memory lane~

The first meetup was just a simple meetup, kinda like a meet and greet I suppose?

That happened on 4 Aug 2016 and 17 people turned up

I have no idea now what was my original member size but it definitely was a small group gathering

We had various topics for sharing and discussion ranging from family, to relationships, to money, and even how to learn skills faster!

It was a modest start with 10 to 20 people per meetup

The turnout crossed 20 people with topics such as how to hypnotize someone, building confidence and the law of attraction!

Interestingly enough, it crossed 30 people when it came to the topic, “How to talk to children to get them to do what you want” although of course, this was a Facebook Live (which you can watch here) as it occurred during Covid CB

And children are so important isn’t it?

So much so that “The Power of Words when Working With Children” gathered 56 people which had teachers, parents, and volunteers who worked with kids!!

This was done in coordination with YouthCorps at the Red Box

Lee McKing gave a presentation to a group of over 80 people at YouthCorp on how to work with children
Massive Turnout With YouthCorps!

It’s not all hypnosis workshops and learning only!

We also had little gatherings for Chinese New Year, and Christmas of course!

With some potluck, I also brought my mom’s famous brownies and butter cake, and others bought some delicious goodies too!

Happy Chinese New Year! Lohei! Huat ah!

And sometimes its just the small gatherings that warms the cockles of our hearts~

Thank YOU for being part of my journey~

Honestly I don’t know what else to say already

It was already a surprise to grow the group to be 769 members strong in 2024, literally the largest hypnosis group in Singapore too!

Much less to have it for like 8 years?!

I trust that if the opportunity presents itself again, I might restart Singapore Hypnosis Meetup to include other activities!

For now, feel free to follow me on Facebook and join my Singapore Hypnosis Group there too

Lastly, some additional special mentions and thanks!

Lee McKing the hypnotist with Lee Ying, who has been a great help with Singapore Hypnosis Meetup Group
Lee Ying is the special help I never knew I needed! Helping to take photographs since the start! Huge appreciation and thanks Lee Ying! May you see great happiness and success! 😀
Lee McKing the Hypnotist with his tailor Gary Foo from SorsStudios
Gary Foo from SorsStudios is the genius tailor who made all my clothes! I only look good because of his impeccable eye for detail and image consultation! Major thanks and continued business! 😀

Some other special thanks (but we didn’t take photos together like Lee Ying and Gary) will be to Beulah, Cedric, Deepika, Dex, Josephine, Jordan, Kira, Lisa, Sam, Sharyln and so many more!

Thanks again to all of you and may we cross paths again some day 🙂
