Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!! š
2 major celebrations and holidays within a week!
So it’s a time to have fun, make merry and laugh!
And it’s also a time for reflection for the past year and resolutions for the new year
Let’s Reflect The Not So Good
And as you do your own reflections, I want you to look at both the good and the not so good
This is for 2 reasons:
To look at possible mistakes and learnings
And to look at what was done right and to continue!
You don’t have to tell me your reflections cause it’s for your own good
Here’s mine!
I had a good start for running my Singapore Hypnosis Meetup with topics and all but halfway, I had to slow down my meetups
It was because of a few factors and namely, it’s me taking on too many tasks and thus, unable to fulfil them within the time I gave myself
I did do it in the end just that it took more time… and the hypnosis meetups got hindered because of it :\
I can only apologise for the huge following (600+ as on this writing) who are eagerly waiting for my meetups
The learning point is that I have decided not to take on too many tasks especially if it’s out of my league and have already prepared 8 topics!!
Dates will be out soon as I arrange with the venue provider!
And yes, I really gave 8 topics with descriptions for them to find slots in their schedule (their venue is quite hot!)
We might have to do some Wednesdays but I still hope to see everyone from my meetup!
And it’s free and may come with free food!
Yummmmm
Actually… taking on too many tasks is a really bad idea…
(Update: Eventually I had to close down Singapore’s largest hypnosis meetup group!)
It also made me delay in writing another book
Hahahahaha
It was an idea to write another book this year
In the end it was only an idea
I only recall it now because I am reflecting
Tip for you my friend: Don’t take on too many tasks past your limits
I cannot even remember what book did I want to write now š
If I remember it, I will write it this coming year
3rd reflection is… ok I cannot find anything else
If I recall anything later I will fill it in!
Let’s Reflect The Good
But there was so much good!
Not in chronological order!
First up I spoke in NUS!
That was an awesome experience giving a mini lecture to 100 students in NUS
And I was even called back for a smaller group discussion and sharing
Next, I was invited to write a chapter for an Indian author!
I just realize I probably did not tell anyone about it lolol
It was pretty cool actually hehehe
I’ve also had a couple of clients from Brunei, India, Malaysia, Europe, Jakarta which is quite unexpected even just to hear from them!!
An Egyptian contacted me in 2016 hehehe
I may have left out a couple other countries ahem
Naturally I met a lot of amazing people!
Let’s see what else good happen to me~
Oh yes I did some volunteering work here and there!
It really feels good when you find other ways to help people around you you know? š
And there was this interview by Goods Wanderer and Yellow Pages
Which is like so cool!!!
I was interviewed by The New Paper and 2 other magazines and a health blog back in 2016
Hmm… if I take this statistically… my marketing is dipping?
Hahahaha nahhhh
I think it’s fine š
I have another interview soon actually š
Also I’ve helped a lot of people this year
Ranging from the usual fears to unique cases like dyslexia!
Or even the client who after 1 session was ready to buy a Ferrari in just 2 weeks!
And I mentioned this in my previous blog
I even had 3 public testimonials!!
Honestly, I find 2017 to have been an awesome year!!
I could go on and on with more good stuff that’s happens but I shall hold back for a bit here hahaha
Now after all the reflections, it’s time for resolutions!
Only… I do not usually make New Year resolutions…
I go year by year as it comes
I do what ideas enter my mind when it happens and if it’s possible
I live life with faith that everything will go well
So I have never done any resolutions hahaha
However you!!!
You can set your resolutions and achieve them how you see fit
If you want a more powerful way of doing new year’s resolutions
Do the SMART way this New Year
Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Time or SMART
Essentially, make resolutions that are specific and measurable, achievable and realistic, and with a time frame
And you probably know of such ways already
Yes, it’s part of goal setting
And isn’t a resolution a type of goal setting anyway?
You know what… I think I know what resolution I want to set for myself in 2018
